Sex Offenders
We contend that sex offenders are the scourge of society; that the damage they do, the fear they instil, are reprehensible, and that there's nothing we can do to stop them or control their compulsions. However, there are two measures that will absolutely stop sex offenders dead in their tracks: a life sentence on the first conviction; and/or castration. Permanent, not chemical. I'm rather partial to the second option. Its time this unspeakable option is debated. If a man can't fight his urges, we take them away. The damage caused to children and rape victums by these men is lifelong and so should the punishment to them be. These men have weapons and we should take them away. If the right of a person to have a sex drive endangers a portion of society, don't we have an obligation to do whatever is necessary to protect ourselves? Is there a man alive who wouldn't rather keep it in his pants than loose it?
